Promotions are must for any film, irrespective of its star cast and range. When it comes to festival release, especially for Sankranthi, filmmakers opt to huge promotional campaign as competition will be high every year with star heroes in race to cash in holiday season.
This year we have star attractions like Stylish Star Allu Ajun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramloo and Super Star Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Neekevvaru. Rajinikanth and Kalyan Ram are also in the race with their respective films Darbar and Entha Manchi Vadavu Ra. There’s no clarity yet on Venkatesh Naga Chaitanya’s Venky Mama. However, the main focus is on the big ticket films AVPL and Sarileru.
While Sarileru is lagging behind in promotions as makers feel it is not necessary for aggressive promotions now, makers of AVPL are providing continuous treats by releasing posters or songs on regular basis to grab the entire attention from now itself.
Nonetheless, film analysts doubt whether these vigorous promotions will have any negative impact on the film. Generally, with these kinds of promotions, expectations will reach sky high. So, the film needs to meet all the expectations in entertaining audience or else they will brutally reject it. We have seen several such instances in the past.
However, makers of Ala Vaikunthapurramloo are extremely certain about their film reaching all the prospects, so they are unworried about any negative impact from these aggressive promotions.
On the other hand, makers of Sarileru Neekevvaru have other plans in promoting their film so as to give tough competition for Ala Vaikunthapurramloo.
