The moment one hears about Rayalaseema, after watching Tollywood faction backdrop films, one will be under the impression that the people from the region that they love bloodshed even before they take birth. Especially Reddy community do not have any compassion and humanity and they roam on roads hacking people to death as per their whims and fancies. People will be under the impression that police force is powerless in the region and dare not take any action against them.
Tollywood makers painted this gory picture about Rayalaseema people to increase their collections. None of the makers are trying to change this trend which is continuing unabated. Many are wondering who will bring an end to this. People who watched Preminchukundam Raa, got used to Jayaprakash Reddy's character as they felt it is an aberration as the makers highlighted the romantic angle.
B Gopal who set a trend with Balakrishna's Samara Simha Reddy, took it to the peaks with Narasimha Naidu. While NTR increased the faction power with Aadi, Chiranjeevi's Indra took ii to another level. One can see villains mercilessly killing their own kin for revenge.
Mahesh Babu's Okkadu too did not show Prakash Raj as Obul Reddy in a normal manner. Earlier Chenna Kesava Reddy and Samba too followed the same and heroes and producers minted money at the box office.
It is a fact that Rayalaseema was faction ridden and more violence was witnessed than shown on screen. But that was few decades back and current generation is not even aware of it. Even as Rayalaseema youngsters changed their mindset, it is a pity that Mahesh Babu, NTR showing Rayalaseema violence and youngsters may believe what was shown in the films.
Though Aravinda Sametha has positive message, what message the makers are sending when Raghava Reddy drags knife in the throat of Basi reddy or when Basi Reddy killing his son mercilessly. Even in Kurnool, Kadapa, Chittor, Anantapur, no such murders are seen in real life.
The filmmakers should question themselves whether showing Reddy, Naidu and Chowdhary as villains.
