Piracy attacks are giving sleepless nights to filmmakers across the country. Despite the stringent laws, piracy menace is spreading its wings shivering one and all. Earlier the films used to get pirated after the release, but now even before the film releases, these things are happening giving shocks to the makers.
Leaving aside where the mistake lies and who is responsible, the problem lies with those who are remaining silent. When Kollywood witnessed piracy of various stars films, Vishal, president of Nadigar Sangam, acted tough and ensured that the police catch the culprits. But Tollywood lacks that dynamic persona who can take the initiative and scare the piracy makers.
Piracy menace is not new and it was prevalent even in the 90s. But with pirating the films into video cassettes a costly affair, it used to be a low key affair. But the advent of technology changed the dynamics of piracy making. A high-end mobile is enough to pirate a movie with HD quality.
With all the films having worldwide releases, one can pirate the film by sitting in a remote theatre without anyone noticing it. Even the authorities and the governments are not having any plan on how to curb the piracy menace. Unless until the filmmakers join hands and take strong steps, one cannot tame the piracy menace.
