Is Allu Arjun's recent release Naa Peru Surya directed by Vakkantam Vamsi going Agnyaathavaasi way. Movie lovers cannot forget how Power Star Pawan Kalyan's Angyaathavaasi directed by Trivikram Srinivas landed in plagiarism trouble.
Ever since the release of promotional content, rumors spread that Agnyaathavaasi was a blatant lift from French film Largo Vinch directed by Jerome Salle. The filmmakers remained tightlipped and Jerome Salle after watching the film was shocked to see striking similarities between Largo Vinch and Agnyaathavaasi. He even threatened to drag the makers to court but even then Trivikram and Pawan maintained stunning silence. With the film tanking at the box office, people stopped talking about it.
Recent release- Allu Arjun's Naa Peru Surya had many similarities with Hollywood action thriller Antwone Fisher which released in 2002. The English film is inspired from an English novel Finding Fish and is all about a youngster with the violent past joining the US Naval warfare. His Commanding Officer directs him to see a psychiatrist as he couldn't control his violent behavior due to incidents in his childhood.
In the Hollywood film, hero gets suspended from US Navy and starts working as a security guard and goes in search of his parents. Naa Peru Surya too resembled the same plot but Vakkantam Vamsi deleted the scenes pertaining to hero's childhood and this left many wondering why Surya has so much fits of rage.
Talk is Vakkantam Vamsi penned the story inspired by Antwone Fisher. One has to wait and see whether Vakkantam Vamsi who claims that his film is an honest attempt will honestly own up the similarities and confess his inspiration. Whatever may be the reason, fans are now watching the Hollywood thriller online to find out the similarities.
