Two years after Slumdog Millionaire swept eight of the ten Oscar Awards on offer, there is not a single Indian entry for the Oscars this year even in the Foreign language film category for 2011.
Only five films appear in the foreign language category including Bullhead (Belgium), Footnote (Israel), In Darkness (Poland), Monsieur Lazhar (Canada) and A Separation (Iran).
Brad Pitt in Money ball and Gary Oldman in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier are likely to vie for the best actor along with Demaina Bichir, George Clooney and Jean Dujardin while Meryl Streep in Iron Lady stands out in the best actor female category, a section which also has Michelle Wiliams (My Week with Marilyn and Glenn Close (Albert Nobbs) along with Vioola Davis and Rooney Mara.
