Ganta assumes charge as minister

Erstwhile Praja Rajyam president K Chiranjeevi on Wednesday stated that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy allotted berths to capable and efficient persons based on their skills and proficiency in the field. He said that the Chief Minister awarded berths to candidates based on their experience, skills and capabilities.

The Tirupati MLA spoke to media persons after Ganta Srinivasa Rao assumed charge as the minister for Infrastructure, Investments and Ports at his chamber's in the State Secretariat. Responding to reports that appeared in a section of media that PRP cadre was not satisfied with the allotment of not-so prominent portfolios, Chiranjeevi ridiculed such reports and said the portfolios were allocated based on ministers' capabilities.

Speaking on the occasion, Ganta Srinivasa Rao thanked the Congress high command, the Chief Minister, Chiranjeevi, Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana and others for supporting his candidature. Rao said that he would discharge his duties responsibly and would try to gain the confidence of the Chief Minister.
