Andhra Pradesh is launching the Global Horticulture Hub – Rayalaseema Rising project to transform Rayalaseema into a major national and international horticulture centre. The ₹1 lakh crore initiative will focus on production, processing and exports, with the formal launch scheduled in Madanapalle today, on October 2 in the presence of Central Finance Minister Nirmala Seetharaman along with AP Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan.The State plans to mobilise ₹40,000 crore through public investment over the next three to four years and attract nearly ₹60,000 crore from private investors through the PPP model. The programme will cover 201 horticulture clusters across 10 districts, creating integrated production, processing, storage and marketing ecosystems.The master plan targets expansion of horticultural cultivation to 14.41 lakh hectares and aims to improve incomes for around 9.6 lakh farmers. Proposed investments include ₹20,884 crore for irrigation, ₹14,906 crore for horticulture and ₹4,562 crore for rural roads, alongside substantial private sector participation.The project proposes creating new irrigation potential for nine lakh acres while stabilising another 4.3 lakh acres. Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy has promised that the State budget for the year 2012-13 would be people-friendly.
Talking to media persons after reviewing the progress of budget preparations with the officials of his department at the State Secretariat, Anam Ramnarayana Reddy said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has already been asked to finalise the dates for the budget session of the State Legislative Assembly. &nbsp;He said once the Chief Minister decides, the dates would then be conveyed to Governor E S L Narasimhan and Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar.
However, the Finance Minister said that the the budget for the financial year 2012-13 would be passed before March-end.
Except three departments - Major Industries, Information Technology and Tribal Welfare, he said the budget proposals of all other departments have been received. He said that the proposals of remaining departments too would be ready soon.

Anam promises people-friendly budget

Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi founder president Manda Krishna Madiga on Friday accused Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana and Tirupati MLA K Chiranjeevi of conspiring with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to remove Dr P Shankar Rao from the State cabinet.
Talking to media persons, Manda Krishna Madiga said that all leaders acted to protect the interests of their communities the induction of new ministers. Describing the sacking of Dr Shankar Rao from the as 'political murder of a dalit leader', he said that MRPS would organize protests across the state against the move.
Stating that the MRPS would teach a fitting lesson to the Chief Minister and Botsa Satyanarayana in the ensuing by-elections, Krishna Madiga alleged that Chiranjeevi has cheated the Dalit community members in the name of social justice and merged his party into the Congress by violating the principles. &ldquo;In the Kapu-Reddy community war, Dalit leader Shankar Rao became a scapegoat and lost his portfolio,&rdquo; he stated and added that the Congress has proved again that it always supports upper castes.
Protesting the sacking of Shankar Rao, the MRPS would picket the District Collectorates on January 21, stage dhanas in mandal headquarters on January 22 and lay siege National Highways on January 23.
The MRPS will observe January 26 as `Black Day&rsquo; and a community level meet will be held on January 27 to discuss on future strategy, he stated.

However, Karthik Subbaraj after the interesting first half and the bold second half, however failed to address the problems in the more powerful manner.Some characters are underwritten and some of the dialogues delivered by them looked forced as if praising the director. Some of the dialogues turned preachy and everything turns preachy and predictable after the passage of time. Karthik Subbaraj in his excitement to add more power and punch failed to with his failure in clarity of thought on where and how to end the film and which direction he should take if forward. He tried to entertain all by highlighting the fight of the oppressed against the powerful, rich and dreaded people who wields an iron like grip. He starts the narration in an interesting manner and till the introduction of the lead actor, the intensity is maintained in a perfect manner.However, the romantic track slowed the pace of the narration and the story goes nowhere. It comes back to the track with the conflict between the hero and the villian and also the mother-son emotional bonding. The intensity reaches its peaks during the pre interval block before setting the stage for the second half.The second half continues in the same manner with protagonist and antagonist baying for each other's blood and the oppressed sect fighting for recognition. It also boils down whether they should fight for the recognition or for the survival to live another day to continue the fight. The film ends in a predictable tone with many cinematic liberties taken and missing logics hampering the realistic feel.Right after the start, one gets a feeling that something is a miss. Most of the scenes are included and shot only to give elevations. Though the start and introduction of the protagonist increase the curiosity levels, the same is not maintained in the next scenes. Kayadu Lohar's characterisation looked extremely odd and the introduction of Raghav Juyal looks absurd. The scenes of son hating mother is also not established properly. The mother's love for son should have been established in a different manner than selling herself to cure his fever. The interval episode after all the hype, looked normal.The second half picks up pace thanks to the protagonist's decision. However with the scenes turning monotonous and routine ,one cannot travel with them. The role of MLA similar to KCR generates interest. The way the Govt brands the oppressed people as terrorists smacks of logic. Same is the case with the pre climax and climax which turned out to be below average. Srikanth Odela failed as a writer and his direction turned out to be pretty average.Anirudh Ravichander came up with a thumping background score. He took the scenes to the next level with his background music. However at times, his background music turned extremely loud. He sported a new look and there ends the so-called novelty and creativity in the story. Srikanth Odela's story offered nothing new. Many such stories came earlier and except for Nani's braids, his look resembled that of Ram Charan in Peddi. Even some of the dance moves resembled the same.On top of it, though he did many stunts, many looked forced and artificial. After the intense start, Srikanth Odela turned the narration into a predictable one with romantic elements etc. Couple of scenes in the first half stand and except that , it does not offer anything new and high. He tried to elevate the mother-son sentiment but the scenes do not connect chords as they looked forced and disappeared in the intense action sequences.In his quest to take Nani's mass image to the next level, Srikanth Odela did not concentrate on the story, screenplay and direction. Story looked predictable and one gets a feeling that he drew inspiration from Peddi, Devara, KGF, Pushpa, Salaar and many others. The chapter wise narration reminds one of the successful template of Dhurandhar. In the name of emotions, most of the actors went over the top bringing in artificiality. Similarly, he has taken many cinematic liberties and logics went missing. The climax emotional scene turned out to be over dramatic and missed the basic emotions. Once the film ends, viewers will heave a sigh of relief after all the emotional torture. The first half ends on an interesting note with few surprising revelations setting the tone for the second half.The second half goes further into murders and drugs etc. The first half included a song to highlight the father-daughter sentiment but it failed to generated the required emotions. The song placement looked odd and out of sync. They could have easily done away with the song.The main villian revelation did not excite anyone as the director failed to keep the viewers engaged with the suspense till the end. Viewers can easily guess the villian even before the end of the first half thus diluting the intensity levels in the second half. Many such films came earlier and the narration dragged with the routine breakup story of Karthik testing the patience of the viewers. The interval twist turns out to be decent and the second half turns little racy. But the predictable elements robbed the viewers of the excitement.Though few scenes in the runup to the finding of Meghana looked good, the weak villian turned out to be the main drawback. The climax ends on a routine note with an action sequence. The figures were officially released by the producers and Nizam stands out as the highest grosser logging Rs 15.19 crore and US coming second at Rs 10.08 crores followed by Ceded at Rs 9.21 crores.
Guntur and Vizag made a good progress in coastal Andhra while overseas other than US netted RS 2.60 crores.
