Pretty Actresses turning Powerful Cops
Sai Pallavi is turning cop in Dhanush's upcoming project OM directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. Srinidhi Shetty earlier donned Khakis in HIT3. Earlier Meenakshi Chaudhary turned police in Sankranthiki Vasthunnam.
Kajal Agarwal turned cop in Satyabhama. Producer Tikka Mohan shared “Kajal underwent a total transformation for the role and brought a fiery presence to the screen. Her performance was subtle but impactful, and it helped revive the trend of women-centric cop stories in Telugu cinema,”
Payal Rajput who played the role of cop in Rakshana says “Cop roles are mostly reserved for male stars. So, when one comes to an actress, it is an opportunity worth seizing. Wearing the khaki uniform and portraying the gravity of a police officer is a serious responsibility,”
She adds “I underwent specific training to get my action sequences, including punches and kicks, right. Today, cop roles are being written with greater depth, making the characters more human and relatable.”
