The highly anticipated sequel to 'Kalki 2898 AD' is set to begin filming in early 2025, according to producers Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt. The mega-budget entertainer, directed by Nag Ashwin and starring Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone, was one of the biggest hits of Indian cinema this year. The producers confirmed the update at the Moscow International Film Week, where 'Kalki 2898 AD' is being screened.
Filming for 'Kalki Part 2' is expected to commence in January or February 2025, with some sequences already shot during the filming of the first part. The pre-production work for the second part is currently underway, and the producers expressed their excitement for the project. Swapna Dutt mentioned that the team is now more confident and prepared, having understood the audience's reception of the first part.
The sequel will focus on Supreme Yaskin (Kamal Haasan) and his mission, building on the story of the first film. 'Kalki 2898 AD' revolves around a group of people on a mission to save SUM-80's (Deepika Padukone) unborn child, Kalki (an avatar of Lord Vishnu), who is believed to end Kaliyuga along with Ashwathama (Amitabh Bachchan) and Bhairava (Prabhas).
With a star-studded cast, including Disha Patani, Brahmanandam, Rajendra Prasad, Shobana, Pasupathy, and Saswata Chatterjee, 'Kalki Part 2' is highly anticipated. The film's success has raised expectations for the sequel, and fans are eagerly waiting for the next installment of the epic story.
