However, reports have surfaced suggesting that Shruti has exited the project for reasons currently undisclosed. If confirmed, her departure leaves a significant gap in the production, prompting speculation about who might step in to fill her shoes.

Interestingly, it's worth noting that Samantha Ruth Prabhu was initially considered for the role.

"Chennai Story" is set to be a coming-of-age romantic comedy, boasting a talented cast including Viveik Kalra, Nimmi Harasgama, and Sahana Vasudevan, among others. The project is supported by Guru Films, Ripple World Pictures, and Ie Ie Productions, with backing from the British Film Institute’s (BFI) UK Global Screen Fund.
