After Blockbuster 'Vikram', Kamal Haasan has completely indulged himself into movies. He is either producing or acting in multiple.films. The latest buzz in Kollywood is that the Ulaganayagan himself, Kamal Haasan, might make a special appearance in Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming patriotic drama ‘SK 21’.
The film, which is produced by Kamal Hassan under his banner Raaj Kamal Films International, is directed by Rajkumar Periasamy of ‘Rangoon’ fame. Sources close to the film reveal that Kamal Haasan has been approached to play a cameo role in ‘SK 21’, which is based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, who was martyred in a counter-insurgency operation in Kashmir in 2014. The talks are still in progress and an official confirmation is awaited from the makers.
Highest honor, Major Mukund Varadarajan of the Indian Army's Rajput Regiment was given India's highest peacetime gallantry award, the Ashok Chakra. In 2014, he was killed in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir during an encounter with terrorists. In eliminating three terrorists and rescuing his team, he showed tremendous bravery and leadership.
‘SK 21’ boasts of a stellar cast that includes Sai Pallavi, Rahul Bose, Lallu Prasath, Gaurav Venkatesh, Mir Salman and others. The music for the film is composed by GV Prakash, who marking his first collaboration with Sivakarthikeyan. Sivakarthikeyan, who is known for his comic roles, is undergoing a drastic transformation for ‘SK 21’. He is reportedly shedding weight and learning martial arts to fit into the role of the brave army officer.
