Thangalaan gets a new date. The highly anticipated film "Thangalaan," starring Vikram in the lead role, is set to captivate audiences worldwide with a global theatrical release in April, as announced by the makers. Studio Green shared the exciting news on X, unveiling new posters that showcased Vikram in a powerful avatar.

In these striking posters, Vikram was portrayed bare-bodied, adorned with a loincloth around his waist, kneeling in a desert landscape while holding a stick and gazing into the distance. The caption accompanying the visuals teased the film's intriguing theme, stating, "History awaits to be written in blood and gold. #ThangalaanFromApril2024 #HappyPongal #HappyMakarSankranti." Notably, the film was initially slated for release on January 26 of the same year.

Directed by Pa Ranjith, "Thangalaan" is rumored to unfold against the backdrop of early 19th-century mining. Produced by K E Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green, the movie features a stellar cast including Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, and Hollywood actor Daniel Caltagirone in pivotal roles. The musical score is in the capable hands of GV Prakash. "Thangalaan" is expected to delight audiences in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Renowned for blockbusters like "Madras," "Kabali," "Kaala," and "Sarpatta Parambarai," Pa Ranjith is known for weaving powerful narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.

Apart from "Thangalaan," Vikram is gearing up for his 62nd feature film, directed by SU Arun Kumar of "Chithha" fame. The project, produced by HR Pictures, led by Riya Shibu, who previously worked on films such as "Thugs" and "Mumbaikar," has GV Prakash Kumar composing the soundtrack. Vikram shared the announcement video on X, expressing his excitement for the collaboration.

In his recent cinematic endeavors, Vikram graced the screen in the action-packed spy film "Dhruva Natchathiram: Chapter One – Yuddha Kaandam," directed by Gautham Menon. Released last year, the film showcased Vikram's versatility alongside an ensemble cast, marking another noteworthy addition to his illustrious career that includes appearances in Mani Ratnam's magnum opus "Ponniyin Selvan."
