Trisha Krishnan Emerged As Highest Paid South Actress

Trisha has a very long career which is quite rare for actresses. She has been doing as a lead actress for more than two decades. After having a glorious career doing big films with almost all start heroes in Telugu and Tamil industries, she even forayed into Bollywood with 'Kattha Meetha' starring Akshay Kumar. The film bombed at the boxoffice and she didn't got much opportunity to exhibit her skills in Hindi land.

For the last few years, she has lost her market with back-to-back failures especially with her lady oriented films. She got hit occasionally with films like '96' but didn't got many offers. At this juncture, Maniratnam saved her from sinking. He casted Trisha in Magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan 1 & 2 parts which turned out into huge hits. 

Trisha Remuneration

Trisha played the role of Princess Kundavai in Ponniyin Selvan films and she got huge accolades for the portrayal of her character in the film. She received Rs 2 Crs as remuneration for both PS films. With the success of PS1 & PS2, she got big offers and her immediate next is Leo with Thalapathy Vijay. It is her fourth film with with after Ghilli, Thirupachhi and Kuruvi. She got Rs 5 Crores as remuneration for Leo.

Trisha is also doing as female lead opposite Ajith in Vidaamuyarchi and Kamal Haasan in Thug's Life directed by ManiRatnam. Now, with the success of Leo and having big films in her kitty, she is said to be doubled her remuneration and is now charging Rs 10 Crs per film. In south, only Nayanthara is getting such huge salary. Now, Trisha with her newly found craze has crossed Nayanthara in terms of remuneration as per Kollywood reports.
