Speaker urged to take up discussion on media

The Opposition and Telugu Desam Legislature Party Leader, N Chandrababu Naidu, on Monday met the Speaker, Kiran Kumar Reddy, in his chambers and appealed him to take up a discussion on Kovvur MLA T Rama Rao, who was arrested at Nidadavole in West Godavari district on charges of sexual harassment of nursing students and lift restrictions on media to cover assembly proceedings.
 
Naidu demanded a discussion on the restrictions as they were reminiscent of Emergency and asserted that the restrictions were not only on media but also aimed at stifling the voice of the Opposition MLAs and their right to speech. The TDP leader wants to do justice to the Kovvur MLA, who was arrested on charges of sexual harassment. With this, the assembly may take up a discussion on both issues on Tuesday Speaker
