Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday demanded withdrawal of legal notices issued for acquisition of land to farmers in Vinodharayanipalem in Prakasam district.
Talking to reporters at an Ishtagoshti interaction programme with Prakasam, Chittor, Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar and Karimnagar district leaders at NTR Trust Bhavan, he said the government should withdraw notices issued to farmers for acquiring 3,500 acres for establishing a Genco thermal power plant.
Farmers from Prakasam National Academy from Ongole under the leadership of B Suryanarayana submitted a memorandum in this regard.
Former chief minister N T Rama Rao had permitted construction of a museum for Tanguturi Pakasam Pantulu in Kanumarthy, he said.
He spurned the government move to evict villagers from the historic village. He demanded that the government withdraw the notification issued for possessing the lands.
