In the wake of graft charges levelled against Cabinet Ministers by senior Congress MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, the Lok Satta Party on Saturday urged the Government to amend the Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA).
Addressing newsmen here, Lok Satta leaders Bheesetti Babu and others said ``Corruption has become rampant in the state and the guilty go scot free. Even the Government is also not serious in taking the guilty to the task.’’
In order to come up with a permanent solution to the problem, the Government should make an amendment to the Prevention of Corruption Act. The amended Act should make provision for seizure of properties of a corrupt public servant at the time of inquiry. In case, he is found guilty, he should forfeit the ill-gotten property privileges and opportunities, the Lok Satta leaders felt.
