The State is suffering in the hands of outrageous  bandicoots which are  eating away all the funds  earmarked for the  Welfare schemes in the State, alleged Telugu Desam supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Addressing the media at  NTR Trust Bhavan here on Monday, the TDP chief compared the  Congress ministers to the bandicoots which are  siphoning off the funds  set aside for the welfare schemes.

All the promises they  made before assuming power have been forgotten and the hollowness of the Government is exposed  today, he lamented.

``Drawing the attention of the press to the recent death of  a farmer due to electrocution at his field, the TDP chief said the fields becoming barren as there is no power supply. We do not  know when the power comes and  goes, he  added.

The  Government  issued ration cards and distributed pensions before the elections and now all those  things  are  vanishing, Naidu observed.

Even the housing  schemes are in a sorry State of affairs.

The Congress leaders  are more interested  in groupism to hold on to the power and are not  bothered about what is happening to the State. The very fact that the  Government  did  not  take  any  action against Maharashtra  government for the illegal construction of river project across river  Godavari at Babli is a case in point,

Chandrababu noted.
