Jobs for youth in Naxal-hit areas

The Government will provide jobs to unemployed youth in the Naxal-affected districts, stated Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy.

Congratulating the District Collector for providing jobs to unemployed youth in the Maoist-influenced areas in the district, she told reporters on Tuesday this step would wean away misguided youth from Naxalism.

She asked the district officials to provide information to the youth on employment generating schemes and loan facilities to earn their own livelihood.She said the government would take rehabilitation measures and help those, who were affected by Naxal-violence.

She said the Naxalite problem was dealt with with an iron hand during the tenure of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.People will recall his welfare schemes and programmes implemented for the benefit of poor and downtrodden in the state, she said.

She promised to give Commissionarate status for Guntur district after discussing it with Chief Minister K Rosaiah and other officials.
