New Delhi, Jan 23: In deference to the instructions from the Congress High Command, party MPs belonging to Telangana region said on Saturday they were abandoning the demand for deadlines on Telangana formation and dissociating from the JAC.Addressing the media after holding consultations with senior Congress leaders here, the MPs said ``the Telangana process has already set in and there is no point in tendering resignations. The resignations will only aggravate the crisis further instead of solving it.
''In view of the Friday's core committee meeting, many Congress leaders from Telangana flew into Delhi on Thursday and were camping here to influence the senior party leaders on the T-issue.As repported earllier, the Congress leadership has served a show-cause notice on MP Madhu Yaskhi for his unsavoury remarks on Telangana. According to senior Congress leader Janardhan Trivedi, the High Command is examining his reply.
Meanwhile, pressure is mounting from the all-party Joint Action Committee on the Congress leaders from Telangana to resign from the Lok Sabha and the Assembly after January 28. The High Command is not only opposed to the party leaders associating themselves with the JAC, but also their loyalty to its dictates.Many Congress leaders are at a loss to decide what to do. Disturbed by the JAC leaders demand for resignations, the Congress leaders hit back at the JAC stating ``the JAC decisions are unilateral and confusing.’’
