The Opposition parties on Thursday demanded the Government to set up a House Committee to look into irregularities in the Obalapuram mines lease issue.The Opposition parties include Telugu Desam, Praja Rajyam, Left, Bharatiya Janata Party and Lok Satta demanded the Government to set up a House Committee to inquireinto leasing of mines to companies.
“Why the Government is dragging its feet if they are no irregularities reported on the issue,” questioned Opposition and Telugu Desam Legislature Party Leader N Chandrababu Naidu.BJP MLA Kishan Reddy said that the Government should set up Housing Committee to clear the doubts on transparent allotment of mines to concerned parties.Lok Satta chief Jaiprakash Narayan demanded for discussion on allotment of mines throughout the state and not only in Obalapuram mines.TRS leader Eetala Rajender stated that a convention should be organised to discuss on allotment of mines to companies as they are property of nation.
