Hyderabad, Dec 30: Credibility is the most vital criteria that gives credence and decorum to an office. But, this seems to have been given the go-by at the highest level. In the latest case, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) planted this story concerning SV Prasad’s elevation to the post of Chief Secretary.This report which appeared in the media, caught Chief Minister K Rosaiah in an embarrassing situation on Wednesday. The Chief Minister expressed surprise and shock over the news of SV Prasad’s elevation as the Chief Secretary.Addressing a meeting of senior officials at the Secretariat on Wednesday afternoon, the CM is understood to have shot back saying, ``who has passed on such ``false’’ information to the media?

 Does someone want to influence the Government before a decision is taken on the appointment of Chief Secretary?,’’ he reportedly asked the officials present at the meeting.Irked by the reports steaming out of his own office, the CM said no decision has yet been taken on the appointment of the Chief Secretary.
