Hyderabad,Dec 23: Mass resignations cutting across the party barriers intensified the 50-year-old  Telangana problem with violent clashes between pro-Telangana supporters and Special  Police  forces in Hyderabad  and  many towns in Telangana region on Thursday.There seemed to be no let up to the political turmoil as resignations of leaders continued to pour in from various parties, resenting the latest statement of Centre on Wednesday.Even a Congress leader from Coastal region,Harsh Kumar, MP from Amalapuram supported the cause of Telangana. Chairman of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation, M Satyanarayana resigned in protest further precipitating the issue for the Congress in the state.

he hotbed of pro-Telangana agitations, the Osmania University campus experienced a tense situation,after students refused to disperse despite repeated requests from senior police officials.Following the indiscriminate lathicharge, students ran into a rampage, attacking policemen with stones. The police in return fired rubber bullets and burst teargas shells to quell the uproar in which one student was injured.The Andhra Pradesh High Court too was a witness for the separatists movement.Advocates fought a pitched battle on the precincts raising pro-Telangana and united Andhra slogans – which is a testimony of the seriousness of the situation.

The road traffic between Hyderabad and Vijayawada has been completely cut off. The entry and exit points to Vijayawada have been sealed by the agitators.The business establishments of Andhraites were not  spared,Y S Jagan’s  mini-hydel  plant in Karimangar  was attacked by the agitators. Chiranjeevi’s farmhouse in Mambapur of Medak  district also came  under attack.The film shooting unit of Mahesh Babu was attacked in Vikarabad and immense damage was caused to the cameras.The leaders who have gone into hiding since the centre’s latest statement on Telangana issue Wednesday, came out openly on Thursday and constituted Joint Action Committee to fight for the cause  of Telangana.
