Telangana Information Technology Minister K Tarakarama Rao on Thursday claimed that his father and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will rule the State at least for the next 30 years.

Participating in the Meet The Press programme here, KTR said that his father was in perfect health and highly active. He is just 62 years young and therefore, he will be able to run the government for the next 30 years. He said he never got the thought of inheriting political legacy of his father. He said that all TRS leaders work as a team and there were not differences among them.

Stating that Hyderabad State had a surplus budget even before Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was born, KTR ridiculed the claim of TDP chief that the State's finance improved due to the economic reforms taken up by the then TDP regime. He also dismissed the claims that the previous TDP Government developed Hyderabad. He said that the TDP would not have lost last elections if there was any truth in Naidu's claims.

Claiming that Hyderabad ranks second in the country in the IT sector, he said efforts were being made to take the city to the top position. He said Hyderabad has already emerged as the Best Investment Destination in the IT sector. Several global companies have expressed their willingness to start their campuses in the city. He claimed that he was able to get confirmations for investments of nearly Rs 3,000 crore during his recent visit to the US. He said that the IT exports from Hyderabad would double in the next five years.

The minister also claimed that the TRS Government was working for the welfare of farmers in the State. Besides waiving off loans, the farmers were given subsidised seeds and fertilisers. Facilities like drip irrigation was introduce and with strenuous efforts the government was able to overcome the power crisis within a year. He hoped that the Telangana State would produce nearly 20,000 MW of power in the next years.
