Hyderabad,Dec 3: The state government on Thursday shifted Telengana Rashtra Samiti President K Chandrasdekhara Rao, who resumed his fast-unto-death at Khammam district headquarters hospital on Wednesday, to Nizams Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Hyderabad in view of his deteriorating health condition.The government kept him in ICMU and formed a special medical team to treat him round-the-clock.The doctors treating him said that Kcr’s condition is stable and responding to the treatment very well. They said there was significant drop in Rao’s blood-sugar level.He was “weak” but “stable.”The TRS leader was accompanied by his son Taraka Rama Rao and MLA Harish Rao.

While his son and party MLA K T Rama Rao wanted him to be shifted to a jail either in Hyderabad or Warangal, the government appeared to be averse to the suggestion.The TRS chief’s shifting from Khammam hospital to Hyderabad fast triggered protests, some of them violent,across Telangana region. While there was tension in Karimnagar,hundreds of TRS workers and CPI-ML workers staged protests outside giving police a tough time.A tense situation prevailed in Warangal district and varsity campuses as students continued their relay hunger strikes.
