The Communist Party Of India (Marxist) on Wednesday asked the Group of Ministers (GoM) to keep Andhra Pradesh united.
Speaking to media persons after meeting the GoM here, CPI (M) State Secretary BV Raghuvulu and floor leader Julakanti Ranga Reddy said that their party has strongly opposed the division of State. Raghuvulu said the division would lead to several new problems, especially for the backward districts of both the regions. He said that GoM has been asked to take special measures to solve the water problem in Anantapur, Kadapa, Kurnool, Nalgnoda and Prakasam districts by completing the pending irrigation on priority basis.
Similarly, Pranahita-Chevella Project should be completed at the earliest to address the irrigation needs of backwards areas of Telangana region, Raghavulu said.
