AICC General Secretary and Incharge of AP Congress Affairs Digvijay Singh on Tuesday appealed to the Seemandhra employees to end their strike.
Talking to reporters here, Digvijay Singh said that there was no power in hospitals, train services were disrupted and the people were put to face hardship due to the strike. He asked whether the agitation was launched to cause inconvenience for people in Seemandhra and Telangana regions. He appealed to the employees, especially those working with Electricity Department to call of their strike immediately.
Digvijay Singh said that the concerns raised by the employees would be addressed by the Centre and Union Home Minsiter Sushil Kumar Shinde too has given assurance on Tuesday to resolve their issues.
Stating that it was impossible to change the decision on Telangana formation, Digvijay Singh said that the decision was taken only after all parties gave their support in writing. When asked about Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy's criticism on the decision, he said that the issue was discussed with all Congress leaders. He did not answer whether the Congress party would take action against those speaking against the High Command.
