Hyderabad,Nov 11: The Lok Satta Party on Wednesday alleged that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) plagiarised many of its electoral promises from the Lok Satta manifesto.Lok Satta spokesperson K Srinivas told newsmen that the party dared the Telugu Desam Party supremo N Chandrababu Naidu to come for an open discussion on the originality of party manifesto with Lok Satta chief Jai Prakash Narayan. He said his party promised to provide livelihood to 50 lakh youth by developing 1,250 small towns and the TDP also talked of developing 1,250 agricultural and industrial corridors to provide employment to an equal number of people. However, the TDP did not explain as to how it proposed to implement its promises unlike the Lok Satta, Srinivas claimed.
He alleged that the TDP leadership was not concerned about the feasibility and desirability of the schemes it promised and it attempted to induce voters and come to power at any cost without being concerned about the future of the states. He questioned as to why the TDP, which has 93 members in the Assembly was scared of Lok Satta's one-member presence? The party has already approached the Election Commission about the manifesto, he said.''If the Election Commission does not act, the party will move the Supreme Court. If such tendencies are not curbed, traditional parties will lure voters with promises of gold necklaces and liquor bottles in the future'', he said.
