New Delhi,Nov 3: The Andhra Pradesh Governor, Mr N D Tiwari, has got a great relief from the paternity case filed by one Mr Rohit Sekhar claiming to be the son of Mr Tiwari. The Delhi High Court on Tuesday dismissed Mr Shekhar’s, plea which has come as a great relief to the Governor.Delivering the judgment that was reserved in the case earlier, Justice S N Dhingra dismissed the plea of Mr Shekhar, son of former Congress party activist Ms Ujjwala Sharma, saying that his petition is "unmaintainable".Mr Tiwari, who has been in the thick of controversy following Mr Shekhar's suit seeking declaration from the court that he is the biological son of Mr Tiwar. Mr Tiwari was a Union minister as well as chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Ms Ujjwala Sharma had claimed that her son, Mr Rohit Shekhar, is the veteran politician's natural son. She had told the court in a written statement that Mr Tiwari drew her into an extra-marital relationship."Believing the repeated requests and being convinced of the love and affection shown by Mr Tiwari, hailing from a respectable and prestigious family, I submitted to emotional pressure and that culminated in the birth of Mr Shekhar," she argued.Ms Sharma filed her response after Mr Tiwari refuted Mr Shekhar's claims and contended before the court that the petition was scandalous and filed only to defame him.

Ms Sharma, legally separated from her husband, alleged in her plea that Mr N D Tiwari started losing interest in Mr Shekhar after becoming an MP and started threatening her.After the death of his wife in 1993, Mr Tiwari had once again assured her that he would acknowledge Mr Shekhar publicly as his son by way of adoption but "when reminded in 1995 he refused to talk to me",she observed in her statement.
