Bharatiya Janata Party leader M Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday said that terrorism has no religion and the government should put down the menace with a firm hand.

Speaking to reporters at his residence here, he said that some leaders were trying to brand Muslims as terrorists and arresting them which was incorrect. If there is a compromise on such sensitive issues, it will equally affect all religions, he said. Irrespective of the religion, terrorism should be firmly dealt with, he said.

"Narendra Modi has won the hearts of the people of Gujarat and became Chief Minister for the third time. But the Left parties are demanding his arrest on the false notion that he has been terrorising one particular community is deplorable," he said.

Venkaiah Naidu also said that Pakistan skirmishes at the border should be seen as a threat and there was no need for a dialogue on the issue.
