Lok Satta president Dr Jayaprakash Narayan on Saturday said that it was meaningless to conduct Assembly sessions without taking up any healthy discussion on people’s issues.

Talking to reporters at Assembly media point, Dr Jayaprakash Narayan blamed the State Government and other political parties for ignoring the public issues during the session. Expressing serious concern over the failure of legislative bodies in discussing public issues, he asked as to where such issues should be discussed and how they could be solved if the government fails to discuss them in the House.

Accusing the state government of not taking the power crisis seriously, he said that the government in the coming days will have to face serious consequences if its fails to address the issue on top priority. Though the State was gripped with a series of problems including fee reimbursement, farmers' issues, malaria and dengue in the agency areas, he said that the government was escaping from its responsibility on giving reply on them.

Stating that his party would extend full support to permitting FDI in all sectors, he said that the sound economy would be possible with opening of doors for foreign investors. He felt that the situation would not have come to such level if the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh would have focused his attention on the corruption.
