Rajya Sabha member K Chiranjeevi on Friday said that the wave was in favour of Congress party in the ensuing by-elections.
Talking to media persons at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad, Chiranjeevi expressed confidence that the Congress party would emerge victorious in majority of constituencies in the by-elections. However, when reporters specifically asked for numbers, he restrained from giving the exact or approximate number of seats that Congress could win.
Though Opposition parties are campaigning against the ruling Congress party to get mileage in the by-elections, Chiranjeevi said that the people would never believe them and vote for the Congress. Stating that no one was above the law, he said that the law would take its own course in the disproportionate assets case against YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Chiranjeevi dismissed allegations of YSR Congress linking CBI probe with the Congress party. Stating that the CBI was an independent agency, he said that no one could influence the probe.
