Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday claimed that he never spoke against Telangana statehood.
Addressing an election rally at Appanapalli in Mahbubnagar Assembly constituency, he said that the final decision on the Telangana issue has to be taken by the Centre only and his party has already made its stand clear on it. He said that the Centre should not delay the issue further considering its seriousness.
Slamming the Telangana Rashtra Samithi for repeatedly forcing the by-elections in the region, Naidu asked KCR to explain to the people of the region as to how Telangana state could be formed by forcing frequent by-elections. Stating that TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao has become MP with his mercy, he accused KCR and his family members of minting money on the statehood issue in the name of by-elections.
Taking a dig at TRS and YSR Congress party, Naidu reiterated that no one could hit the prospects of TDP in the Telangana region. He asked the voters to be conscious before voting for the Bharatiya Janata Party considering its communal background.
Naidu hoped the regional parties would emerge victorious in the next elections and play a crucial role in 2014.
