Venkaiah accuses Kiran, Naidu of misusing the House

Bharatiya Janata Party senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday criticised Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and opposition leader N Chandrababau Naidu for using the State Legislative Assembly to personally target each other.

Talking to media persons at NKM Gardens, Naidu said that both the ruling and main opposition party have degraded the respect of the House by resorting the personal attacks while neglecting the important public issues. Instead of maintaining decency and decorum in the people’s House, the leaders forgot that they were elected representatives and clashed with each other, he said.

Venkaiah Naidu took serious note of the Chief Minister supporting Prohibition and Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, who is facing the charges of corruption. "Instead of dismissing the Minister from the Cabinet and taking stern action, the Chief Minister himself is giving him the clean chit, without even ordering the probe," he said.

When the Opposition raised the issue in the House and demanded ACB report, he said that the government tried to divert the attention of the House business and other problems. He also asked the TDP president Chandrababu Naidu to act responsibly while dealing with the government on liquor scam. He said that the people of state would lose confidence on politicians after observing their behavior in the House. 

Responding to establishment of National Counter Terrorism Centre to deal with terrorism, he accused the Centre of trying to encroach upon the State rights. Stating that 11 Chief Ministers have opposed the NCTC, he asked the Centre to immediately revoke the move and begin consultations with all the Chief Ministers.
