Expressing doubts over the sincerity of Chandrababu Naidu’s commitment to the farmers’ cause, JAC Chairman Prof M Kodandaram said TDP had a different view while it was in power.
Talking to media persons at JAC office, Kodandaram stated that “Naidu, who termed investment in agriculture as `waste’, has no moral right to conduct padayatras in the State,” Prof. Kodandaram told reporter here on Saturday.
The padayatra is with an aim to strengthen his party in Telangana region by shedding crocodile tears on farmers’ cause, he said.
Condemning ‘Seemandhra goondas’ attack in the name of padayatra and police highhandedness on Telangana activists, he said the TD should have shown this commitment towards achieving the Telangana state. Without making clear the stand on Telangana, he said, JAC would not allow political parties to conduct a yatra in the region.
When reporters asked about Y S R Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy’s `Fee Porubata’ in the Telangana region, Kodandaram said that Jagan also should make his stand clear on Telangana before launching his Porubata.
Stating that the JAC would intensify its agitation with a slogan `Congress Pathareye TDP Nelandiyandi’, he said until the Centre announces separate statehood they would continue agitation and mount pressure on government.
He said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, N Chandrababu Naidu and Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy as on the same side of coin and are opposed to the Telangana.
