Danam takes Gutta to task for speaking against Rosaiah

Labour Minister Danam Nagender on Monday came down heavily on Telugu Desam Party leaders for criticizing former chief minister K Rosaiah for his alleged double standards on the Telangana resolution.

The TDP leaders had alleged that Mr Rosaiah had, by design, not adopted the resolution in the state Assembly during his rule. Earlier TDP MP Gutta Sukhender Reddy had blamed the Rosaiah government for ignoring a resolution on the said subject.

It may be mentioned here that Mr Rosaiah has already made it clear that there was no ‘cent per cent’ unanimity among the members for adopting a resolution on Telangana.

Responding to the Telugu Desam Party leader’s charges, Mr Nagender told media persons at the Secretariat that it was the TDP members (90 per cent of them) who were outside the House whiling away their time while the Congress members were on the Floor of the House, trying to arriving at a consensus on the issue.

Making light Mr Sukhender Reddy’s comments, Mr Nagender reminded them that the Mr Rosaiah was always at his work, trying his best to strengthen the party in his own style. “Finding fault with Mr Rosaiah is not in the good light,” Mr Nagender said.

He further added that holding a demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi would in the least contribute to the deletion process of Clause 14 F. The Minister also made it clear that the Congress leaders would abide by the decision of the High Command and are confident that Clause 14 F would be scrapped shortly.      

Mr Nagender predicted that, “possibly in four or five days, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram will announce a ‘resolution’ on the subject.”

The Minister also summed up in a chronological order how Mr Chidambaram and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had held discussions on the issue. He also did not fail to point out that Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana was in New Delhi recently to pursue or speed up the ‘process’ and so on.

The Minister reminded that in this context the Centre was seized with the matter and will do the needful.

Referring to the health of Congress party president Sonia Gandhi, Mr Nagender clarified that their party organized all-religion prayers for her speedy recovery and rebuffed the criticism against offering prayers.
