Centre working hard to find amicable T solution: Dy CM

Expressing confidence that the vexed separate Telangana statehood issue would be solved soon, Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha on Tuesday said that the Centre is looking at all possible options to find an amicable solution.

Talking to media persons after calling on Congress In-Charge of Andhra Pradesh Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad at his residence, Mr Rajanarasimha said that the High Command was currently holding extensive discussions on the separate Telangana demand.

“The High Command is trying to find an amicable solution to the issue. I am confident that a solution would be found soon,” the Deputy Chief Minister said. He added that, “Whatever decision the High Command takes on Telangana, I will obey it.”

Mr Rajanarasimha, presently in New Delhi to thank the High Command for elevating him to the Deputy Chief Minister’s post, had earlier met Congress party president Sonia Gandhi and expressed his gratitude for entrusting him with the responsibility.

He had later called on Mr Azad where he briefed the Union Health Minister about the latest political situations in the state, vis-à-vis the separate statehood demand.

Mr Rajanarasimha, in his interaction with the press later, said that the issue of establishing Regional Councils in Telangana did not figure in his meeting with Mr Azad.

He also expressed confidence that the Centre would soon solve the issue of ‘Hyderabad as Free Zone’ by deleting the controversial Clause 14 F in the Presidential Order of 1975.

Mr Rajanarasimha has met Union Minister of State for Railways M Muniyappa and appealed him to expedite the completion of pending railway projects in the state.

Mr Muniyappa assured the Deputy Chief Minister that Patancheruvu—Sangareddy—Jogipeta--Akkanapeta railway line survey work would be completed in the next three months.
