Is it right for Film Promotions in Colleges. Of late, the makers are promoting their films in colleges and this is becoming a new trend. In the midst of all this, people are wondering whether promoting films in collleges is right or wrong.

Recently the makers of Yash's Toxic promoted the film in Malla Reddy University and the entire unit got a huge reception. Earlier Sasi Kumar promoted the film My Lord in educational institution. Rahul Ravindran promoted his film The Gilfriend at CMR Group of Institutions.

Previously, Shah Rukh promoted his film Fan in his Hansraj College, Delhi. Shahid Kapoor, Pooja Hegde promoted Deva at Mithibai College,Mumbai and they also met students at RD National College, Mumbai.

The Dirty Picture, Krrish 3, Badlapur, Brothers and Shaandaar and others were promoted in Mithibai College, Mumbai.Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan shot promotional song of Haiwaan at SNDT College in Mumbai.

Dil Raju says “These days, the youth audience is very important for a film’s success.” Preeti Reddy, Vice-Chairman, Malla Reddy Institute, shares “Film promotions are easy for any producer or any distributing agency to do inside a campus because the students are all there rather than keeping it somewhere else.”

Preeti Reddy, Vice-Chairman, Malla Reddy Institute, says “Film promotions are easy for any producer or any distributing agency to do inside a campus because the students are all there rather than keeping it somewhere else.”

She added “I have taken care and we had asked to blur a few unseen images or unseen scene clips so that we feel more secure about it.”

She continued “We are all fond of actors and actresses, and when these people come to a campus it is like an honour or a feel-good factor to see them.”

Actor, director Sasi Kumar however says “Because even if we don’t do the pre-release event, anyway the students will go to the movie theatres to watch this movie.”

Rahul Ravindran adds “What is crucial in the first two or three days of a film is attaining that critical mass where enough people have watched it for word of mouth to spread. Below that number, word of mouth doesn’t really spread. One of the easiest ways to get an audience base that will very quickly spread word of mouth is colleges. Ten kids watch it in college, they’re going to be back in college the next day talking to their friends and classmates. Typically, word of mouth will spread much faster than attracting audience bases from any other strata.”

Students are however loving these events and are excited for them.
