Transport Minister Botsa Satyanarayana on Saturday stated that the state government will derive important lessons from the outcome of Kadapa Parliamentary and Pulivendula Assembly constituencies’ results and work towards improving administration.

“Both the government and officials failed to take welfare schemes to doorsteps of people. We failed to remove the misconceptions among the people that we are sincere in implementing the welfare schemes,” the Minister said.

Admitting that a ‘sympathy wave’ and the people’s ‘misconceptions’ have played a major role with the voters, Mr Satyanarayana added that the Ministers and officials also failed to effectively tackle the Opposition, which targeted the government on the its failure to implement the schemes properly.

“If the Ministers and officials have taken proper measures, the people would have reposed their confidence in the government and voted in favour of Congress candidates,” he reasoned.

Admitting that the government failed to release Rs 2 crore for 104 ambulance service, the Minister stated the government has to learn lot of lessons from the election results. “We have to take concrete steps for getting back the confidence of the people,” Mr Satyanarayana introspected.

He added that the High Command will not allow a repeat of the mistakes which were evident in Kadapa and Pulivendula results and take steps for strengthening the party in the state.

The Transport Minister emphatically said that there was no immediate threat to the government, adding that the Congress will make concrete efforts to strengthen the party at grassroots level.
