Police arrested senior Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader T Harish Rao, along with some of his supporters after they tried to barge into the residence of Minister for Information and Public Relations J Geetha Reddy at Marredpally on Monday.
The TRS members were protesting against the Ministers from Telangana who had earlier in the day participated in the official Andhra Pradesh Formation Day celebrations.
Earlier, Mr Harish Rao had termed the Ministers who participated in Andhra Pradesh State Formation Day celebrations as `betrayers of Telangana’.
The TRS leader told his supporters at a dharna in front of Ms Geetha Reddy’s residence that the people and students of the region would give a fitting reply to those Ministers, who participated in the Formation Day celebrations.
He stated that the participants had violated the diktat issued by the TRS, and for this they will not be forgotten nor forgiven by the people of Telangana.
The TRS members had kept on raising slogans against the government’s move to celebrate the Formation Day celebrations all the time Mr Harish Rao was speaking.
Stating that the Ministers have hurt the sentiments of Telangana people by participating in the Formation Day celebrations, the TRS leader said the Telangana people would not forgive them.
When the activists tried to barge into her house, the police foiled their attempts and arrested Harish Rao and the pro-Telangana activists.
