Secret behind Ysrcp confidence. The Ysrcp is claiming that they will win in Andhra Pradesh once again. Many believe this is just an election stunt, but some analysts, think the party's calculations are correct. While there is strong opposition to the Ysrcp government in AP, it seems to be mainly in urban areas. Recent surveys suggest that the rural base is still strong for the Ysrcp, with around 70 to 100 people supporting the party. In contrast, in urban areas, only 30 to 100 percent are said to support the Ysrcp.
The Ysrcp seems to be placing high hopes on the rural vote. This was also the sentiment expressed by Ysrcp leaders when they were defeated in the MLC elections last year. They believe their votes are different and that most of the benefits of the Ysrcp schemes are being felt in rural areas. Therefore, if the villages support them, victory will be assured.
According to the Election Commission, there are approximately 4.13 crore voters in AP, with an estimated 85 lakh voters in urban areas and 3.30 crore in rural areas. Most of the urban voters are in cities like Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, and Guntur, totaling around 55 lakhs.
Ysrcp's strategy seems to be focused on winning over 70% of the rural voters and 20% of the urban voters. They believe that out of the total 175 assembly constituencies in AP, about 50 are urban-affected, while the remaining 125 are under the influence of the rural sector. Ysrcp is hoping to secure the highest percentage of these 125 seats to come back to power.
However, the TDP is not backing down. They claim that all voters in AP, regardless of rural or urban background, will vote against the Ysrcp this time. They believe that the division predicted by Ysrcp leaders is just an illusion. Ultimately, the truth will only be revealed after the results are announced.
