Pawan Kalyan to contest from this constituency. Pawan Kalyan, the leader of the Jana Sena Party, has declared his candidacy for the upcoming Andhra Pradesh elections, marking his debut in electoral politics.
He announced his decision to contest from Pithapuram during a public meeting. This announcement follows his party's recent agreement with the BJP and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), led by Chandrababu Naidu, regarding seat-sharing for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.
The Jana Sena Party is set to contest 21 seats in the Assembly polls out of the total 175, with the BJP contesting 10 seats and the TDP fighting for 144 seats. The Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh will be held concurrently with the Lok Sabha polls.
Pawan Kalyan who lost the elections last time in two constituencies, after he contested the elections all alone in 2019, this time from the beginning batted for Jana Sena -TDP-BJP alliance and even readied for many political sacrifices. It has to be seen whether Pawan will emerge victorious from Pithapuram in this elections.
