Senior Congress leader and former minister Jc Diwakar Reddy opined that there would no Cabinet reshuffle in the near future.
Talking to media person on the Assembly premises on Tuesday, Mr Diwakar Reddy said that the Cabinet reshuffle is the prerogative of the Chief Minister K Rosaiah and he did not expect Mr Rosaiah to reshuffle his Ministers soon.
The senior Congress leaders said that the Chief Minister would take a decision on the Cabinet expansion at the appropriate time and said that Mr Rosaiah would pick only ‘efficient’ persons as Ministers.
“There is no need to worry on the Cabinet expansion. The Chief Minister will take efficient members based on their performance and service to the party,” he said in response to a question.
“The government is stable and there is no cause of worry. The government will continue its term successfully and implement all schemes efficiently for the benefit of poor and middle class people,” he said.
“Personally I am against for Cabinet reshuffle at this juncture. I just hope that party members who harbour ministerial aspirations would not get hurt in the event of being left out in the Cabinet expansion,” the former Minister said.
Reacting on criticism of the government by Minister of Mines Balineni Srinivas, the former minister said that, “the comments, if true, are unwarranted. As a responsible Minister, he should not make such remarks.
Mr Diwakar Reddy also hailed the decision of government to order an Anti Corruption Bureau probe into Emmar-APIIC land deals.
He urged the government to act sternly against those who are involved in deals between the APIIC and Emaar Properties.
