Congress MLC Rudraraju Padmaraju on Tuesday condemned the behavior of Opposition and Telugu Desam Leader N Chandrababu Naidu against police personnel at the Nampally police station during a protest on Monday.
Talking to media persons at CLP Office, the MLC termed the behavior of Naidu against DCP Akun Sabharwal as ‘unbecoming of a former chief minister’.
He said that Mr Naidu is still under the delusion that he is the Chief Minister of the State and the officers have to obey his directions. He advised Mr Naidu to consult a good physician and get his health checked as his behavior is becoming unbearable.
“Mr Naidu should contemplate why he is sitting the the opposition leader’s chair,” he said. Mr Padmaraju added that the people have elected the Congress to rule the state, twice in succession.
He said the TDP has no moral right to talk on the reimbursement of fee to students as the TDP had not allotted even a single rupee during its tenure.
The MLC said the government is spending thousands of crores of rupees on the fee reimbursement scheme and would release funds to clear the arrears soon. He asked parents not to worry over the refund of fee.
Meanwhile, MLA Gandra Venkataram Reddy echoed Mr Padmaraju’s words by criticising Mr Naidu for making derogatory comments against the police during the protest at the Nampally police station.
When asked to comment on Mines Minister Balenini Srinivas Reddy controversial remarks against the government, Mr Venkatram Reddy said that those comments were ‘unwarranted.’
He requested party leaders or workers not to make any comments against the government or the High Command and said that not only would disparaging remarks lower the image of the party, but would also invite party discipline at an appropriate time.
