Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Tuesday gave the nod to release Rs 56 crore for the development of the second phase of the Rajiv Arogyasri Services in East and West Godavari, Chittoor, Nalgonda and Ranga Reddy districts.
Minister for Rajiv Arogyasri Pitani Satyanarayana said that the funds were released from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
The nod for the release of the fund came after a review meeting on the Rajiv Arogyasri with higher officials on its performance.
Talking to media persons after the review meeting, Mr Satyanarayana said that a GO has also been passed, bringing the 15 thousand people destitute living in old age homes under the cover of the Arogyasri.
Mr Satyanarayana also revealed that the government has released Rs 15 crore for upgrading the facilities at government hospitals in the state.
He also revealed that the government has given the nod for a 300 sq yard plot for a new Rajiv Arogyasri Building in Jubilee Hills.
The Minister said that the second phase of developing the Arogyasri facilities in East and West Godavari, Chittoor, Nalgonda and Ranga Reddy districts would begin shortly. Mr Satyanarayana also revealed that the government is mulling over the proposal to bring more diseases under the ambit of Rajiv Arogyasri Scheme.
The Minister also said that Mr Rosaiah’s health is stable.
