Hyderabad Police Commissioner Ak Khan on Monday stated that adequate measures are already in place for the festivals of Eid-ul-Fitr and Ganesh Chaturthi in the city to prevent any untoward incidents from occurring.
Talking to media persons after a high-level review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary SV Prasad, Mr Khan said that the police department had been conducting a series of meetings with members of the Ganesh Mandalis who organise the festival.
Mr Khan said that an additional 9,000 police personnel have been requisitioned from other districts for bandobast duty in the twin cities as part of the security arrangements.
The Police Chief also said that there was no question of police failure into the disruption of the Group-1 examination at the B Ed College in the Osmania University Campus on Sunday.
He said that the protestors had taken advantage of the low height of the compound wall of the college and scaled it.
Mr Khan said that the police had enough evidence and information about the protestors who disrupted the examinations and would act accordingly.
Speaking to media persons, Cyberabad Police Commissioner Prabhakar Reddy said that adequate security arrangements have been made in the Commissionerate to prevent any untoward incident in view of the twin festivals.
