Member of Parliament T Subbarami Reddy on Monday stated that the Chief Minister K Rosaiah would be the Chief Guest at T Subbarami Reddy Kalapeetam Awards to be presented on September 17, his birthday, at Port Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

Speaking to media persons, Mr Subbarami Reddy revealed that an all-religion prayer meet ‘Sarva Dharma Sama Bhavana Sammelan Utsavam’ would also be organized on the occasion.

He revealed that heads of the different religions would pray for the country’s progress and prosperity.

Mr Subbarami Reddy said the programme would be inaugurated by the Union Minister for Heavy Industries Vilas Rao Deshmukh.  Union Minister for Steel Veerabhadra Singh will preside over the function. 

He said that the Millennium Award will be presented to Dadasaheb Phalke awardee and Natasamrat Dr Akkineni Nageswara Rao.

National Integration Award will be presented to Padmasri Vyjayantimala Bali, recipient of Legend of Indian Cinema Award 2004 (USA).

Life Time Achievement Awards will be given to Jnanpeeth awardee Padmabhusan C Narayana Reddy and MP and former captain of Indian cricket Team Padmasri Mohammed Azharuddin,.

The Kala Saraswathi Award will be presented to Dr Jayasudha.

AP State Cultural Council Chairman R V Ramana Murthy will also be honoured for his services to the , fields of music and culture all over the world. 

APSRTC Chairman M Satyanarayana Rao would be the special guest.  APCC president D Srinivas, Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development D Purandareswari, Union Minister of State for Steel A Sai Pratap, State Committee on Public Security and Public Safety Chairman KVP Ramachandra Rao,  Minister for Information and Public Relations, Tourism and Culture J Geetha Reddy, former minister and MLA JC  Diwakar Reddy, Heavy Industries Minister Kanna Lakshminarayana, Panchayat Raj Minister Botsa Satyanarayana, Tribal Welfare Minister Pasupuleti Balaraju would participate as guests.  

Noted film producer Dr D Rama Naidu, actor and former MP Dr M Mohan Babu, actor Padmasree Brahmanandam, actor Nagarjuna Akkineni, Amala Akkineni, former MP ‘Kalabharati’ Jamuna, ‘Urvashi’ Sarada and Vanisree would be honoured guests. 

MPs V Hanumantha Rao, Sabbam Hari, Kanumuri Bapiraju, Nandi Yellaiah, Botsa Jhansi Lakshmi, Undavalli Arun Kumar, MLC P Sudhakar Reddy, former TTD chairman DK Audikesavula Naidu,  former MP and Chairman, State Hindi Academy, Padmasree Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad would be distinguished guests.

Dr Reddy said that he would lay foundation stone for an Orphan Home to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 4 crore. He would also lay foundation for a residential building for patients in the King Gorge Hospital, Visakhapatnam. 

Producer Dr D Rama Naidu is the chairman of the awards committee. Kalabharati Jamuna Ramana Rao, Padmabhusan Dr P Susheela, R V Ramana Murthy, Chairman Cultural Council are members of the Kalapeetham Awards Committee.
