Bowing down to the Telugu Desam Party’s demand, Chief Minister K Rosaiah invited Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu for talks at the Camp Office on Monday evening.
Earlier, senior TDP leaders Devender Goud and Gali Muddu Krishnama Naidu demanded Chief Minister K Rosaiah to invite them for talks over the reimbursement of tuition fee issue as lakhs of students life involved in it.
Talking to media persons from the Nampally police station, the leaders, who were arrested by the police for staging dharna over the issue at Secretariat, said that the Chief Minister should allot time for the TDP to discuss the issue with him. They added that Mr Rosaiah’s health had improved and he was convening all meetings with Secretaries.
They however, refused to meet Cabinet Sub-Committee chairman Pilli Subhash Chandra Bose over the issue, who had called the TDP leaders for a meeting at the Secretariat.
They had warned that if the TDP did not receive any response from Chief Minister by evening, the party would chalk out future course of action on the issue after discussing with party cadre and its president N Chandrababu Naidu, they said.
Mr Naidu had criticized the police action on people’s representatives and demanded an apology from police and the Chief Minister.
“I want to know under what section the police arrested the TDP leaders, who are staging stir on public issue, and filed cases against them. The government promised to pay the fee of students in its election manifesto. If the government is unable to continue the scheme, it should tell the people,” he said.
Demanding suspension of police for manhandling the TDP leaders, he asked the police to behave in a well manner with people representatives.
