Revanth Reddy expanding his base in Telangana. CM Revanth Reddy is gearing up for an extensive district tour in January 2024, a strategic move aimed at streamlining administrative processes and communicating the priorities of the newly-formed Congress government, according to reliable sources.
This undertaking assumes heightened significance as the Congress administration is poised to fulfill the ambitious Six Guarantees within the first 100 days, aligning with the imminent Lok Sabha elections in April 2024. Sources suggest that, in preparation for the tours, Revanth Reddy may contemplate a substantial reshuffling of IAS and IPS officials.
While the finalized schedule awaits the conclusion of the Legislative Assembly session next week—scheduled to commence on December 14 for the election of a Speaker and subsequent proceedings for about a week—insiders point to January 2024 as the most plausible timeframe for Revanth Reddy's district tours.
Anticipating these pivotal engagements, Revanth Reddy is set to convene a comprehensive conference with collectors and SP-rank police officials from all districts post the Assembly session. The primary agenda of this assembly will be to provide explicit instructions on the effective implementation of Congress guarantees, ensuring transparent governance, and upholding law and order.
Adding to the minister's already packed agenda is his keen focus on the upcoming Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) employees’ union elections on December 27. Covering the Lok Sabha constituencies of Peddapalli, Khammam, and Warangal, this region holds strategic significance.
In the backdrop of the TBGKS, affiliated with BRS, emerging victorious in the polls in October 2017, the Congress is now poised to contest and potentially secure the union elections, riding on the momentum gained from its triumph in the Assembly polls in the coal belt region. With 39,748 workers set to cast their votes, the Singareni area encompasses 11 Assembly constituencies across Adilabad, Khammam, Warangal, and Karimnagar districts. Notably, the Congress had previously clinched victory in six of these constituencies in 2018, while Kothagudem went to the Congress ally CPI, and the BRS's Kova Laxmi secured the Asifabad seat. The impending union elections are a focal point as the Congress aims to consolidate its presence in this strategically significant region.
