KCR surgery successful. Former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao underwent a successful total hip replacement surgery on Friday following a fall at his farmhouse in Erravalli village late on Thursday night. Yashoda Hospital, where Rao underwent the surgery, issued a health bulletin stating that he "tolerated the surgery well and was stable haemodynamically throughout the procedure."
KCR has been shifted to a room for recuperation, receiving routine post-operative care including IV fluids, prophylactic antibiotics, and pain medication. The hospital stated that his condition would be reassessed on Saturday, with the expected recovery period ranging from six to eight weeks.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy instructed the health secretary to ensure Rao received the best possible treatment and sought regular updates. Rao's family, including wife Shobha, children K.T. Rama Rao, K. Kavitha, nephew T. Harish Rao, and others, were present at the hospital.
The incident occurred when Rao slipped and fell in the bathroom of his farmhouse after midnight. His family promptly brought him to the hospital, where doctors decided to conduct the surgery on Friday afternoon.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed distress over the incident, tweeting his prayers for Rao's speedy recovery and good health. Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan also conveyed her anguish and prayers for his early recovery. Numerous other political figures, including Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, AP Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, predecessor N. Chandrababu Naidu, Congress leader K. Jana Reddy, and BRS leaders, wished Rao a swift and complete recovery.
