Dubbing movies dazzled in 2022

Till sometime back dubbing movies lost their sheen but in 2022 dubbing movies regained their lost glory and showed their power dazzling at the box office. Post covid and the increased pan-India craze erased all those boundaries.

February witnessed the dubbing movies like Samanyudu, FIR, Gangubhai Kathiawadi, Valimai. Though Alia Bhatt's Gangubhai Kathiawadi got good reviews, it did not do well at the box office. Hey Sinamika, The Kashmir Files,ET, James released in March, and among them, The Kashmir Files created a sensation at the box office. The film which was released with no expectations raked in more than Rs400crs at the box office.

April witnessed the storm of KGF2. Yash and Prashant Neel drove mass movie lovers crazy with high-octane action sequences. The film which got Rs100crs on the first day went on and collected a whopping Rs 900crs at the box office. Beast and Kanmani Rambo Khatija disappointed all. Sivakarthikeyan's Don failed to impress in May.

Kamal Haasan showed his power at the box office with Vikram in June and Rakshit Shetty's Charlie 777 did well across the country. Vikram collected over Rs 450crs while Charlie 777 got more than Rs 100crs. July saw the release of Madhavan's Rocketry-The Nambi Effect, Sai Pallavi's Gargi and Kichcha Sudeep's Vikrant Rona. Rocketry and Gargi got good reviews. Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chadda and Vikram's Cobra which were released in August turned out to be disasters. September saw the release of Arya's Captain, Ranbir Kapoor's Brahmastra and Maniratnam's Ponniyin Selvan I. Only Maniratnam's Ponniyin Selvan fared well at the box office.

October witnessed the sensation of a small film from Sandalwood, Kantara. Rishab Shetty's captivating and stunning performance in the climax left all in awe. The film grossed more than Rs 450crs. Sivakarthikeyan's Prince, Akshay Kumar's Ram Sethu bombed at the box office while Karthi's Sardar won the appreciation of all. Banaras and Love Today released in November and Love Today by Pradeep Ranganathan captured the imagination of all. The film made with just Rs5crs got more than Rs 70crs. December witnessed the release of Vijayanand, Vishnu Vishal's Matti Kusthi. Though Matti Kusthi got the good talk, it did not do well at the box office. Akrosam, Connect and Avatar 2 are set for release in the coming days and people are bracing fro the Avatar 2 storm.
